Hello gals!  I want to share with you a few of movies I find REAL GOOD and LIBERATING.  Just so I get to see your lists...

Right now on TV, there is Astronaut Farmer.  I would show this to my son...  A farmer building up a rocket to launch outer space risking everything he has.
V for Vendetta...  Great reminder that Government serves the People, not the other way around.
The Matrix...  Always thought this was far more real than anything...

I can't think of anything else right now, but will add more when I think of it.

Great idea to have a movie thread (and btw my family and I are fans of the movies you've mentioned above)

I'd like to add a few more to the list:

Braveheart
The Patriot
Man of the Year
America: From Freedom to Fascism (Aaron Russo's film)
Gandhi (starring Ben Kingsley)
Freedom Writers
The Great Debaters
Dead Poets Society

i do want to say that the movie "the incredible" has an interesting message to it. there is even a scene in the beginning where the dad (super hero in hiding) laments about how every one is expected to be average, no one gets to be great any more. very interesting, plus it has craig t nelson as the voice. LOL

I'll have to rent a few of these. I've never seen Gandi, but I just started reading his autobiography.

My favorite is still, The Power of Song: The Pete Seeger story. I found a copy at my library and still had to go out and buy a copy to share w/friends. It's an amazing story full of beauty & truth.
